Recently retired quarterback Eli Manning infamously won not one but two Super Bowl titles as a member of the New York Giants. While spending his entire NFL playing career with “Big Blue” before officially retiring following the conclusion of the 2019 campaign, Manning notably defeated future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, and the heralded New England Patriots in both Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI.
As a result of Manning's success as an NFL signal-caller, another Giants legend in running back Tiki Barber firmly believes that his former teammate should no doubt find himself in Canton one day.
“He is a Hall of Famer. No doubt about it,” Barber recently told Scoop B Radio, via USA TODAY Sports. “The question about first ballot is timing because, think about the peers that he’s going in around. I think he maybe has an advantage because he’s not going to align with his brother Peyton, who retired a couple years before. He’s not going to align with Drew Brees, who is still playing, or Tom Brady. And so, he might get fortunate because he is a Hall of Famer and coming into a class that doesn’t have a quarterback waiting, you know what I mean? Like, he doesn’t have a guy that is a guaranteed Hall of Famer waiting.”
Unfortunately for Barber, who did play in one Super Bowl as a member of the Giants, the longtime New York rusher retired right before Manning led the NFC East franchise to a pair of titles.
