New York Giants quarterback Mike Glennon had a historically bad performance during Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Chicago Bears. According to WFAN Sports Radio in New York, Glennon achieved a “feat” that has not been “accomplished” since Ryan Leaf's infamous 1996 rookie season.
“That net passing total marked the first time since 2009 a team had a negative net passing total, and the last time a team was worse than minus-10? Way back in 1998, when the Chargers led by then-rookie Ryan Leaf had negative-19 in a game against the Chiefs where Leaf was 1-for-15 for four yards and was sacked twice for 23 lost yards, a net of minus-19.”
To add injury to insult, Glennon was also injured in the game and will require surgery. According to The New York Post's Paul Schwartz, the injury is to his right (throwing) wrist and will leave Jake Fromm as the starting quarterback for the Giants season finale on Sunday at the Washington Football Team.

Looks like Jake Fromm gets the start in the season finale.— Paul Schwartz (@NYPost_Schwartz) January 3, 2022
While Glennon was very bad in this one, it is not like Fromm has been much better…at all. In two games this year–both Giants blowout losses–he has thrown for only 109 yards on 29 pass attempts (3.7 yards per attempt,) he has thrown no touchdowns and has one interception.
With a quarterback rating of 37.6, Fromm sits second to last in the entire NFL in that stat–ahead of only Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jacob Eason and behind the likes of Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley (39.6 QBR) and Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell (39.6 QBR).
