New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley certainly couldn't wait to get back on the field and see some real football action. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have an exact idea yet when he can make his return, per Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York.

Saquon Barkley said he’s not trying to be evasive about when he’ll be able to practice. He said “I don’t have the answer.” He said “I don’t know” when asked if he’d be ready to practice next Wednesday and gave the same answer to whether he’d be ready for Week 1.

Barkley, a Bitcoin enthusiast,  barely played in the 2020 NFL season. In fact, he only finished one game, which was in Week 1's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The following week, the Giants lost again to the Chicago Bears, but the biggest setback for the team was Saquon Barkley suffering a season-ending ACL injury in that game.

Without Barkley for the most part of the 2020 NFL season, the Giants' offense went from bad to worse. They finished the campaign 31st in scoring offense and also second-worst in total offense. New York had to rely a lot on the shaky arms of quarterback Daniel Jones to drive the offense, while Wayne Gallman did the heavy lifting on the ground.

The hope for the Giants is that Barkley will be ready in Week 1 when they host the Denver Broncos. If he can't go, Devontae Booker will likely get the most snaps behind Jones.
