New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is now going to be loved for more than just his play on the field.
On Friday night, Barkley was at a night club in New York City and treated the people waiting outside to $100 bills, as video from TMZ displays.
Gotta love the kid.
The 21-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Penn State University, was selected by the Giants with the second overall pick of the NFL Draft back in the spring.
He went on to have a spectacular rookie campaign, racking up 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 91 receptions for 721 yards and four scores en route to a Pro Bowl selection.
Barkley put together seven 100-yard performances this season, including a stretch of four straight between Weeks 11 and 14.
His best game of the year came in a 40-16 win over the Washington Redskins on Dec. 9, when he punctured the Redskins' defense for 170 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Also, back in Week 2, he caught 14 passes in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Many felt the Giants should take one of the many quarterbacks on the board at No. 2, but Barkley has proven New York right in its evaluation thus far.
Along with wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard and tight end Evan Engram, the Giants actually have a solid nucleus of young offensive talent moving forward.
New York went just 5-11 this year and has only made the playoffs once since winning the Super Bowl during the 2011-12 campaign.
