The New York Giants are looking for a quarterback to succeed Eli Manning. We have heard all sorts of rumors coming out of New York lately, with some stating the Giants will draft Dwayne Haskins and others surmising that they will sign Nick Foles.
The latest speculation? New York could be intrigued by the possibility of trading for Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Josh Rosen, per Dan Schneier of 247 Sports.
With the Cardinals reportedly enamored with Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, Rosen, whom Arizona took with its first-round draft pick last spring, could be a potential trade candidate.
Of course, nothing is definitive at this point, and reporters and analysts are just connecting the dots in assuming that the Giants could be interested, but it does make some sense.
After all, New York met with Rosen in the lead-up to the 2018 NFL Draft, but the Giants ultimately decided to roll with running back Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick.
Now, there seems to be a chance that New York can have its cake and eat it too by adding Rosen, as well.
Rosen started 13 games during his rookie campaign this past season, throwing for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing 55.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 66.7 in what was a very disappointing year overall.
The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at UCLA, was selected by the Cardinals with the 10th overall pick of last year's NFL Draft.
The Giants won just five games in 2018 and have made the playoffs just once since last winning the Super Bowl during the 2011-12 campaign.
