The NFL plans on holding a trial run on Monday of the 2020 NFL Draft that will be held virtually on April 23. Just a couple of days before they conduct the trial, details have emerged about Monday's mock run-through.
What we do know is that the trial run-through of the NFL Draft will have two rounds of selections. While we are well–aware of the draft order, the NFL has compiled a random order for the mock draft. After randomizing the order, the Dallas Cowboys are going to have the No. 1 pick in Monday's run-through.
Additionally, some fans have wondered whether or not the NFL is going to use the real prospects in Monday's mock draft. Despite their plan of using this year's prospects, the NFL will randomly draw names from the NFL Scouting Combine list.
Article Continues BelowThis will prevent teams from revealing what their ultimate plan in the draft is truly going to be. At the same time, it helps expedite the mock draft, since it's supposed to be used to make sure each team is able to use the technology correctly.
Among the things we don't know include whether or not trades will take place in the run-through of the virtual draft. Seeing that they want to get a decent feel for what the draft will feel like, they could already have pre-planned trades put in place. Or they will inform certain teams to conduct a trade during Monday's run-through.
Due to such short notice, teams have had to adjust to doing a virtual draft, setting up their draft war rooms at their own homes. Nonetheless, Monday's trial run of the virtual draft should give teams a bit more understanding of what next Thursday's draft is supposed to look like.
