Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban has had nothing but praise for his quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, but his latest comments comparing him to Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers might be the biggest compliments.
Saban told Albert Breer of SI.com that different parts of Tagovailoa's game remind him of the two future Hall of Famers:
“I think he’s a lot like Drew Brees. I always thought Aaron Rodgers was a lot like that as a player too,” Saban said via Pro Football Talk. “Not overly big, accurate with the ball, really good judgment, decision-making. Those guys are the style of player. I would never say the expectation should be he would accomplish what those guys have, I’d never wanna put that on a guy. But that’s the style of player he is.”
Saban thinks Tua Tagovailoa's greatest strength is getting the ball out quickly, something that Brees and Rodgers are both good. Tagovailoa is also good at fitting the ball into tight windows, which should translate well to the NFL:

That’s what he is. He makes a lot of really, really good throws in tight windows, which is the biggest difference between college quarterbacks and pro quarterbacks.
The one big question for Tua Tagovailoa is his health and if he will be able to stay healthy in the NFL. Tagovailoa's health checks have all come out positive, which is good news after his devastating hip injury.
There is no doubt that Tua has the skills to make the big throws in the NFL, hopefully, the body will be able to hold up for him.
