Murray dominated the college football scene this year en route to Heisman Trophy honors and a berth in the CFB Playoffs. Prior to the season, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that he would make the transition back to baseball once it was all said and done. However, it appears he has experienced a change of heart over the last several months.

Aside from his dominance on the football field, Murray also plays centerfield for Oklahoma's baseball team. He had already signed a contract with the A's after they selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 amateur draft. He already has a guaranteed $4.66 million waiting for him if he stays with baseball. However, he could receive double the amount if he is selected in the first round of the draft.

Although Murray has submitted his name for the NFL draft, that does not mean baseball has been ruled out. He has merely given himself extra time to come to a decision. The only guarantee at this point is that he will not be returning to school.
