Could future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Peyton Manning be on his way to landing a job in an NFL front office?

We probably shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves just yet, but Manning has said that he has had discussions with a few teams about potentially becoming a general manager:

“I’ve had talks with a few teams,” Manning said, according to Peter King of NBC Sports. “It never got into any type of negotiation, if you will. I think a couple teams have expressed interest … I’ve given them that same answer. I’ve listened. I just said, that’s a job that is not a one-foot, dip-your-toes-in-the-water job. It is all-in, all-encompassing. I guess because I have that respect for the job and what it is, what it takes, that that’s why I’ve passed at this point. At some point, maybe I am ready to say, ‘Hey I’m all in.’ But I’m just not there yet.”

There had been some talk earlier this offseason that Peyton Manning was in the running for the New York Jets' general manager job, but nothing ever really materialized.

Manning retired from the game of football following the 2015-16, when he won his second Super Bowl title.

The 43-year-old spent 18 years in the NFL, with the first 14 seasons of his career coming as a member of the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted him with the first overall pick back in 1998.

Manning went on to make 11 Pro Bowls as a member of the Colts, winning his first Super Bowl during the 2006-07 campaign.

He then signed with the Broncos in 2012 and added three more Pro Bowls as well as that second championship to his resume.
