Police are investigating a burglary at the home of New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski in Foxborough, Massachusetts, ESPN reports.

Foxborough Police Chief William Baker did not comment on exactly when the break-in occurred, although he did mention it was when Gronkowski was away at Super Bowl LII.

Baker also didn’t disclose the exact details of the items that were stolen, although a police dispatcher was reportedly heard saying that “multiple safes and possibly guns” were taken.”

“There were items stolen,” Baker told reporters Tuesday morning. “We're not going to release the nature of the items stolen.

“Obviously the people who committed the theft know what was stolen. It's an investigative advantage for us to know that as well and not share it with the public, so I won't have any further comment on that.”

Gronkowski and the Patriots had been away since Jan. 29 in preparation for the Super Bowl in Minneapolis. They returned to Foxborough on Monday afternoon following their 41-33 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both local and state police arrived at Gronkowski’s home Monday at about 6 p.m. Eastern time, and were on the scene to investigate the premises for much of the night.

After suffering an emotional defeat in the Super Bowl, it’s got to be rough for Gronkowski to come home and immediately have to deal with something as stressful as a burglary at his home. Hopefully, nothing of significant value was stolen from his home and that the police are able to bring the perpetrators to justice soon.
