The New England Patriots are going for their seventh franchise Super Bowl on Sunday. New England is getting some good news ahead of the game, regarding injuries. Defensive stars Robert Spillane and Harold Landry III are active for the game, per The 33rd Team.
Both players had been questionable in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Spillane is dealing with an ankle issue, while Landry has a knee injury. Both are key defensive players for Mike Vrabel's squad.
Spillane missed some time at the end of the regular season due to his injury. He had re-aggravated it during the team's AFC Championship game clash with the Denver Broncos. Landry missed that game due to his injury.
The Super Bowl is Sunday night. New England is battling the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL's big game.
Patriots hope to win a Super Bowl in Coach Mike Vrabel's first season
Mike Vrabel has accomplished some amazing things in just his first season as Patriots head coach. He has taken the team to the Super Bowl. Vrabel replaced Jerod Mayo, who lasted just one season as coach of New England.
Patriots fans are excited to see their team back in the NFL's big game. New England fans are also certainly happy to see both Spillane and Landry back in the mix. During the 2025 regular season, Landry picked up 8.5 sacks.
Landry also posted 27 solo tackles and a forced fumble during the campaign. Spillane meanwhile posted 97 total tackles during the season, and two interceptions.
“This season, Spillane leads the Patriots in run stuffs (23) and is the primary communicator on defense,” the team reported.
New England last won the Super Bowl when Bill Belichick was head coach, and Tom Brady the quarterback. The Patriots last won the championship in the 2018 season. Time will tell if the Patriots take another title on Sunday.
