Josh Gordon was released by the New England Patriots, leading to a media frenzy on Twitter when news broke that a mysterious team had claimed him. Now, the team has been unveiled. That team was the Seattle Seahawks.
That's right, Seattle's offense got even more dangerous and Russell Wilson is getting one of the most talented weapons he has ever worked with. Gordon has to prove that he can be consistency, but the raw talent is there for him to be a true No. 1 target for Wilson. Seattle has to be excited about being able to get him.
All of that being said, let's dive right in and take a look at three bold predictions for Gordon with the Seahawks for the rest of the season.
3. Gordon Gets Back On The Field Within Two Weeks
There have been some questions about when Gordon will be able to get on the field with Seattle. While he was available, that doesn't mean that he is back to 100 percent health and ready to jump into the action immediately. However, Gordon will get back on the field quickly with the Seahawks.
When everything is said and done, Gordon doesn't seem terribly likely to play this week. Seattle may not get their first look at him on Sunday, but they are going to get him back next week.
2. He Catches At Least Six Touchdowns
We aren't going as far as saying that Gordon will be the top receiver in town by the time the season ends, but he is going to make a major impact. Wilson is one of the top quarterbacks in league right now and Gordon offers him a red zone threat that he hasn't had in quite some time.
Gordon is a big target and he is extremely fast and athletic. Defenses have a hard time matching up against him. That will lead to at least six touchdowns with the Seahawks this season.
1. Josh Gordon Will Earn Himself Another Deal With Seattle
Finally, the Seahawks are going to like what they see from Gordon and the way he works with Wilson. He may not put up star caliber numbers, but he isn't being brought in to be a superstar.
Seattle wants a big target with an even bigger catch radius for Wilson to work with. Gordon is more than capable of supplying that for the offense. He is going to play well and assuming he stays out of trouble, he is going to earn himself another deal with the Seahawks.
