The Seattle Seahawks record is good sitting at 3-1 and in a tie for second place in the NFC West, but there are still a lot of questions heading into their Week 5 showdown against the Los Angeles Rams. Let's break down three burning questions that are surrounding the team and need to be answered quickly.
3. What is going on with this defense?
The Seahawks for years have prided themselves on defense, but this year's squad has a lot of questions that need to be answered quickly. They only gave up 10 points in their last game against the Arizona Cardinals, but how much can be credited to the defense, I am not sure. The Cardinals offense has struggled for most of the season and we should have a much better understanding against a Rams offense that is strong.
One of the biggest issues for the Seahawks' defense has been giving up yards through the air. On the season, they are giving up 239.5 pass yards per game, which is 16th in the league.
So which defense will show up against the Rams? The one that was lights out against the Cardinals or the one that gave up 33 points to the New Orleans Saints led by Teddy Bridgewater?
2. Is Chris Carson the true number one running back?
Chris Carson has 67 rushing attempts compared to Rashaad Penny, who only has 16, but it still felt like a running back by committee before the Week 4 game against the Cardinals.
Against the Cardinals, Carson had a breakout game, rushing 22 times for 104 yards and he also caught four passes for 41 yards.
Article Continues BelowWas that performance enough to have Pete Carroll hand Carson the keys to the backfield or will it still be a good mixture of Carson, Penny, and C.J. Prosise?
We should get a good idea on Thursday night, but it's hard to imagine that Carson wouldn't get the majority of carries.
1. How good is this team?
The biggest question still surrounding this team is just how good are they? We found out what happened when the Dallas Cowboys played a good team with their loss on Sunday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints and now the Seahawks get their first big test.
Their three wins this season are over a winless Cincinnati Bengals team, a winless Cardinals team, and a Pittsburgh Steelers team that only has one win.
So is this team a contender? Or have they been gifted with an easy start to their schedule? We will have to wait and see.
