The Seattle Seahawks are set to make several major moves that could include the departure of a few cornerstone players on the roster. Much of this is expected to impact the defensive side of the ball. Among the players anticipated to be on the move is All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman, as various reports have suggested that the Seahawks will be parting ways with him by the end of the week.

It appears that the 29-year-old is hinting at possibly having interest in joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he took to Instagram to follow a few prominent players on the team.

Sherman is in the final year of his four-year, $56 million that pays him $13.2 million in salary bonuses for the 2018 season. He is coming off the first major injury of his career after tearing his Achilles tendon last November. Luckily, he is expected to be back on the field by June despite undergoing minor surgery to remove bone spurs.

The Stanford product has spent the first seven seasons in the league, establishing himself as one of the premier cornerbacks in the league that is backed by four Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and a Second-Team All-Pro selection. During this stretch, he has 367 total tackles, 99 pass deflections, and is tied for fourth with Kenny Easley in Seahawks history with 32 interceptions.

If the Seahawks do decide to release Sherman, there will be several teams interested in acquiring him that could drive up the price tag. The Buccaneers have plenty of salary cap space at their disposal to make a serious bid with more than $73 million.

The San Francisco 49ers could also be in the mix given that there are many factors that could work in their favor, being that he has familiarity with the area having gone to school nearby at Stanford. The team also has about $67 million in salary cap space and a glaring need at cornerback.

Expect there to be plenty of movement on this front in the coming days if Sherman hits the open market.
