The Seattle Seahawks need to make some big improvements on their defense. Drafting Florida Gators cornerback C.J. Henderson in the first round would make a lot of sense.

During the 2019 regular season, the Seahawks gave up 263.9 yards per game through the air, which was 27th in football. Shaquill Griffin and Quandre Diggs are both good football players, but they could use upgrades and more depth. Griffin also will be a free agent after the 2020 season, so the team needs a backup plan if he does leave for another team.

This is a loaded draft class for cornerbacks. Henderson could end up having the most successful career among the deep class.

Anderson's stats were a little down in 2019, which is why he could make it to the end of the first round. Even though the stats show a regression, he played just as well. Henderson didn't have any interceptions in 2019, but in the first two years at Florida, he had six interceptions total. In 33 games total with the Gators, Henderson finished with 93 tackles, and 26 passes broken up.

Thedraftnetwork.com gave the following review of Henderson's game.

Long, gangly, and lanky frame throughout. Primarily played in an off-ball positioning pre-snap. Possesses arms that are like vines that allow him to play through receivers. Even though his body may not be in proper positions, his arm length and reach enable almost absolute possibilities to make plays on the ball. Arm extensions smothers throwing windows and makes it hard for throwers to fit balls in consistently. He embraces the physicality portion of playing the position and takes pride in being a run defender. Teams often targeted him with using receivers as alley enforcers, Leaving Henderson on a island with a convoy headed towards him. Taking on the challenge, he was consistent with maneuvering through traffic and still making tackles. Showed to have plenty of value as a blitzer. He was often used on CAT (corner) blitzes and late-down edge pressures.

He also has great hands that will allow him to have many interceptions when the ball is thrown his way. He does need to get better with the pre-snap stance that will allow him to get off the line better.

The good news for Henderson is he doesn't have many changes to make to his game to make him elite. Henderson is a guy who should be able to play game one for the Seahawks, and they need to draft him in the first round.
