Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams will play against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, as he has recovered from his nagging groin strain, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Adams hasn’t played since Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Injury updates:
— #Seahawks RB Chris Carson (foot) is out, but Jamal Adams (groin) will play.
— #Bucs WR Chris Godwin (hand) is listed as questionable.
— #Saints WR Michael Thomas (hamstring/ankle) is questionable but there is optimism he goes, while QB Drew Brees is good to go.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 6, 2020
The Seahawks are struggling on defense right now despite being 6-1 on the season. The return of Jamal Adams, one of the best defensive players in the NFL, will be a huge boost for Seattle and its secondary as the team gets ready to face Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.
In his first season with the Seahawks after requesting a trade from the New York Jets, Adams has recorded 2.0 sacks and 14 solo tackles. The All-Pro hasn't intercepted a ball yet, so look for Adams to be extra opportunistic against Allen, who has a tendency to make some errant throws from time to time.
The Seahawks could win the NFC this season with the way quarterback Russell Wilson and the offense are playing. Seattle has the top offense in the NFL right now and Wilson is playing at an MVP level.
Now, the Seahawks have to get their defense back in order and the return of Adams is a huge step in the right direction.
In 49 NFL games with the Jets and Seahawks, Adams has 14.0 sacks and 224 solo tackles along with two interceptions. Seattle has to be thrilled Adams is feeling better and ready to compete with his teammates again.
