There are more than a few folks out there who consider Russell Wilson to be the victim in what has become a rather dire situation with his current team, the Seattle Seahawks. However, if you ask one of Wilson's former teammates in Michael Robinson, the former long-time Seahawks fullback believes that Wilson himself is as much, if not more to blame for the drama that has ensued.
In his mind, Robinson believes that the Seahawks have given Wilson everything he's ever wanted in Seattle:
“I don't know what Russell wants,” Robinson said, via Jacob Kamenker of NBC Sports Northwest. “He's paid. They paid him twice in Seattle. The front office made sure that every other alpha male — with the exception of Bobby Wagner, KJ Wright and some of the old school guys that are there — they made sure that all of us were out the door so that this team could be Russell Wilson's. And now this?”
As he said in his scathing statement above, Robinson blames Wilson for why he was forced out of the team. Robinson is clearly still feeling salty about that development and he didn't hold back in sharing his honest thoughts on the issue:
“I just don't know how you walk back in the locker room where you're saying my O-Line is getting me hit too much, I don't have that much say,” Robinson added.
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman and current ESPN analyst Marcus Spears echoed Robinson's thoughts. According to Spears, he believes that Wilson hasn't played his card well:
“There's a code to how you divulge information,” Spears said. “If you're Russ and you're giving out these bread crumbs and you're trying to lead somebody down this path to making you believe you either want out or they need to make some wholesale changes in order for you to be happy in Seattle.”
The situation is getting ugly in Seattle and this recent criticism of Wilson's actions only further highlights what has developed into a seemingly unsavory relationship between the quarterback and his team. If you take Robinson's comments here into consideration, you might also think that some of Wilson's current Seahawks teammates might not be too happy with how he's handled himself thus far.
