After signing guard Mike Iupati to shore up their offensive line, the Seattle Seahawks continued to spend in their biggest area of need, re-signing D.J. Fluker to a two-year deal that keeps him in Seattle for the time being.
I thought the Mike Iupati deal might spell the end of G D.J. Fluker in Seattle but no. Source says the #Seahawks are finalizing a two-year deal for Fluker. So their guards this year will be a couple of former first-round picks in Iupati and Fluker.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, while many seemed to think hat signing Iupati might mean Fluker had become expendable, it seems like the Seahawks are content with keeping both players around as their starting guards. The terms of Fluker’s deal is unknown as of yet, but the fact that Seattle has actively invested in offensive line help shows how committed they are to keeping quarterback Russell Wilson safe.

While he has been a dependable player throughout his career, Fluker was forced to miss six games last year, and only started nine of the Seahawks contests, so the team will no doubt be hoping that he can stay healthy in 2019.
The Seahawks 2018 season went about as well as they could have hoped. After many thought that the team would be one of the worst in the league after losing key members of the famed Legion of Boom secondary, the Seahawks surprised everyone by finishing 10-6 and securing a playoff spot in the crowded NFC.
While they did lose their Wild Card matchup to the Dallas Cowboys, the stellar season showed that even without a truly elite defense, Russell Wilson is more than good enough to help carry the load for the Seahawks. Now, they’ll look to compete with a stacked Los Angeles Rams team for control over the NFC West and make it back to the playoffs.
