Amid much talk as of late surrounding the uncertainty of Russell Wilson’s future with the Seattle Seahawks, wide receiver Tyler Lockett is confident that the veteran quarterback will return for the 2022 season.

Lockett recently took some time to speak on the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” program, where he noted that although he well recognizes the business side of the NFL, he sees Wilson will be under center for the Seahawks come Week 1 of the 2022 campaign.

“I'm very confident that Russ is going to be back,” Lockett said. “This is a business, there's a lot of politics and stuff that go into this. There's a lot of rumors and stuff that always take place and happens.

“Through my relationship with Russ, I believe that he is still going to be here, but I also know that everybody is going to have to do what is best for them because there is no loyalty in this game of football. They tell us to treat ourselves as a business and there is no such thing as stability neither. … I think that he is going to stay.”

Wilson’s long-term future in Seattle has been much in question since the last offseason. However, the one-time Super Bowl winner has continued to double down that he aspires to stay on with Seattle. For one, he noted during the regular season that he would be open to playing with the Seahawks for at least “20 years.”

Even as the offseason has not yet opened up, Wilson has already been linked with teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which comes as they are now on the lookout to find a successor for Tom Brady at the quarterback position.

Wilson’s future with the Seahawks sure will be among the more notable talking points in the upcoming offseason.
