There are some coaches that can't stand to watch their professional football team use precious time dancing. Then there is Pete Carroll, who encourages it with his Seattle Seahawks. So much so that the team had themselves a dance competition during Saturday meetings.

Under Carroll's eye, the Seahawks are one of the NFL's most dance and music-friendly teams. Why? It's all about uplifting the team.

“Without question it has something to do with uplifting the spirit of guys, and me too. The other day, the sound system went out and everyone was like, what’s going on? Everyone could tell and feel the difference in what it feels like,” said Carroll in August, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

There's nothing like the energizing effects of music and dancing.

“Back in the day, in high school, you had a teacher that you went to that class and when you went to that class, you knew you were going in, something might happen that day,” says Carroll. “You’re always kind of wondering what was going to happen and what was happening and you might do the noise and the music outside. I like our environment to be that kind of energized. Wherever we can keep it upbeat and keep them challenged and guessing and not white sure what’s going to happen next, that’s what we are endeavoring to do.”

Sitting at 2-1, the Seahawks are needing a win over the 0-2-1 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday to stay in contention with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West. If they do so, expect a lot more dancing.
