The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off another disappointing campaign that saw them fall in disappointing fashion in the divisional round of the playoffs after a promising regular season.
However, it hasn't derailed the level of expectations around the organization as head coach Mike Tomlin has stated that he believes the Steelers have a Super Bowl-caliber team put together (h/t Bryan Deardo of 247 Sports).
Article Continues Below“I’m always optimistic this time of year,” Tomlin recently told fans on Steeler Nation Unite. “We’re undefeated and un-scored upon, and that’s how I like it. It’s my intention for it to remain that way.
“I feel really good about the group. We got a world championship caliber group. Obviously, there’s some work in front of us, some challenges, some worthy opponents, the journey that is the NFL season. I look forward to all of those things. I think those are some of the reasons why I love what I do.”
The Steelers have demonstrated that they have the talent in place to be a powerhouse in the AFC once again with much of the same group returning this upcoming season. This should set the table for what could be a serious run toward competing for a Super Bowl as one of the top teams in the league.
Pittsburgh has one of the most explosive offenses around Pro Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with All-Pro talents in running back Le'Veon Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown along with emerging wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster that should see them be one of the top scoring options.
