Defensive end Carl Nassib is among the most notable figures in this year’s edition of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” which follows the Cleveland Browns’ training camp. However, Nassib will no longer be offering financial tips to Browns teammates, as he was released by the team on Sunday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

First of all, this was a witty way for Schefter to break the news of Nassib’s release. It was just last week when Cleveland cut Mychal Kendricks over his alleged collusion with a former Goldman Sachs employee in an insider trading scheme, thus the reference to the said bank.

Nassib, however, is not going to be a 9-5 bank employee, as it was later reported by Schefter that the defensive end was claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers off waivers.

The Bucs confirmed the report Sunday.

Nassib was taken by Cleveland in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, but his release certainly meant that he was not part of the Browns’ future plans. Nassib was drafted when the Browns still had Sashi Brown as general manager. The team’s architect is now John Dorsey, who has been busy shuffling the roster since he took over the GM job in December of last year.

Last season, Nassib played in 16 games (12 starts) and collected 3.0 sacks and 19 tackles.
