Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs enter Super Bowl 55 as the favorites over the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will look to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004.

But if there’s anyone who knows what it takes to win in the postseason, it's Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who will play in his 10th Super Bowl. And if Brady and Tampa Bay want to pull off the upset and give the team its first championship since 2002, they need to win the turnover battle against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

A stat shared by former NFL player and current analyst Bucky Brooks indicates that Brady has not lost in the playoffs when his team wins the turnover battle. The 43-year old signal-caller has an 18-0 record when it happens during his time with the Patriots and Buccaneers, and limiting their turnovers will certainly go a long way in helping the Buccaneers beat the defending champions.

As Brooks mentioned, mastering the “art of how not to lose” by limiting turnovers is important, especially in the Super Bowl where a game could come down to a single play. Having turnovers also gives Kansas City more chances to put points on the board, something that their dynamic offense has done well throughout the season.

In the playoffs, Brady and the Buccaneers had just one turnover in their win over the Washington Football Team in the Wild Card Round and none against the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round. However, that wasn’t the case against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game, when Brady was intercepted three times and Tampa Bay still came away with a 31-26 win to reach the Super Bowl.

Nevertheless, limiting their turnovers against the Chiefs is one way for the Buccaneers to increase their chances of pulling off an improbable win.
