The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their first Super Bowl since the 2003 NFL season, and their defense was one of the main reasons why quarterback Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl ring. At least, that's what one would think when holding one of the best offenses to only nine points along with forcing Patrick Mahomes to throw two interceptions and no touchdowns.
Many critics of the Super Bowl believed that the Chiefs were unable to protect Mahomes due to most of their starting linemen being injured, allowing for the Bucs defense to take advantage of the backup offensive linemen and pressure Mahomes constantly on each offensive possession. Star linebacker Devin White sat down with Good Morning Football talk about what people had to say on the matter:
.@DevinWhite__40 has a message for critics who aren't giving the Bucs defense the credit they deserve:

White, who had eight tackles and one interception, had himself a game this past Sunday and he was not going to let anyone say otherwise.
In response to the claims that the Chief's O-line was riddled with backups being the reason for their poor performance, White brought up the Buccaneers having to playing with backup safeties against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. He emphasized how individuals stepped up when their names were called and that is what should happen in the NFL, no excuses.
Devin White made sure to let everyone know that the Buccaneers worked hard to make sure that their defense was up for any challenge, as it got the best of both Rodgers and Mahomes.
