Remember that time Tom Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl at the age of 43? Pretty spectacular right? Well, we all know he was playing through a small knee injury. But, it was actually more serious than anyone thought.
According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, TB12 literally had a torn MCL dating back to his time with the New England Patriots. The injury worsened as his first year with the Buccaneers went on and Brady eventually got surgery in late February after winning his seventh ring.
This news basically just grows his legacy even more. We all know how painful a knee injury can be and especially when you're over 40-years-old, the body simply doesn't heal at the same rate. Does this mean that he could actually be even better for the Buccaneers in 2021? Based on this quote from June, Brady certainly thinks so:
Article Continues Below“It was an injury I dealt with really since last, you know, April, May,” Brady said. “I knew I would have to do something at the end of the year and happy I did it and it was probably something that certainly needed to be done and there was a great outcome so I’m very happy about that. I feel like there’s some things I’ll be able to do this year that I wasn’t able to do last year.”
The Buccaneers are definitely in a prime position to run it back after retaining all of their free agents from the Super Bowl-winning squad. And with Tom Brady feeling 100%, the possibilities are endless this season.
