The NFL world has had vastly mixed reactions to their announcement about penalties related to unvaccinated players. Teams can certainly impose internal policies to govern their own players, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are planning to do exactly that.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians revealed how Tampa Bay is planning to police its players, targeting their wallets as well as increasing COVID-19 testing tenfold.

Via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times:

[Arians] says he will fine any unvaccinated player $14,000 on the spot for every time he isn’t wearing a mask or is breaking a protocol.

“A vaccinated player will get tested 14 times this year,” Arians said. “An unvaccinated player will get tested 140.”

The exact number of Buccaneers players that the rules would affect remains unclear, as there's still not a firm figure for who's vaccinated and who isn't. However, Arians asserts that figure is trending closer and closer to 100% by the day.

Arians wouldn’t say how many Bucs players are vaccinated, but he believes it will be more than 85 percent by final cutdowns.

It still remains unclear if the team's marquee stars like Tom Brady have been vaccinated. Brady specifically hasn't exactly been vocal one way, or another. Running back Leonard Fournette expressed his hesitation with taking the vaccine after the NFL's vaccination rules broke as well.

Bruce Arians looks fully onboard in getting as many Buccaneers players vaccinated as possible. Whether he succeeds in getting them all jabbed remains to be seen.
