After he was carted off the field in last night's loss to the Washington Football Team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive tackle Vita Vea gave the team positive news on his ankle injury. Vea was diagnosed with a bone bruise and a slight MCL sprain, which proved to be significantly better than what the organization was dreadfully expecting. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

Though the defensive tackle could miss some time, the Buccaneers are relieved, considering that it wasn't a season-ending injury. A top nose tackle in the league, Vea's skills and talents would be essential to the team's success, especially in the postseason.
Article Continues BelowThe Buccaneers suffered a disappointing loss to the Washington Football Team, 29-19. It was their second straight loss in a row, bringing concern to the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The defense struggled to stop Washington's run game, as running back Antonio Gibson scored two rushing touchdowns. Taylor Heinicke even managed to throw a touchdown and pass for 256 yards.
The Buccaneers will need to come together as a team and dissolve chemistry issues before the start of the postseason. With Vita Vea's injury being a minor one, the team should expect his return soon. Additionally, Tampa Bay will have a couple more opportunities to display the dominance they are expected to have, especially against the New York Giants next week.
