Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans can finally sigh with relief now that the best possible news has arrived: Vita Vea will be cleared to play in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Dedicated Bucs site JoeBucsFan.com published the news that brought delight to many fans hoping that the defensive tackle will be ready for the season opener on time.

He had this to say about the positive news:

Defensive tackle Vita Vea has been deemed full-go per Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians. In fact after practice yesterday, Arians boasted that Vea isn’t on a pitch count.

Vita was picked in the first round of the 2018 Draft, selected 12th overall. He played in 13 games and started eight of those, finishing his rookie season with three sacks and 28 tackles.

Vea's time on the sidelines began early in the preseason. He was expected to miss time in the preseason after sustaining a knee injury. He said that no operation was needed but precautions had to be made.

“I knew I was fine,” Vea said after that scare, per Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times. “I knew nothing was wrong. I think the doctors were just being cautious about it.”

Buccaneer Nation continued to receive good news about their star defensive tackle's progress. The last update before the clearance was that Vea had a full practice with the team on Thursday.

Now that they have their key defensive linesman back in the fold, the secondary will be able to perform a bit better against San Francisco.
