The 2021 free agency period for the NFL is going to be an interesting one, to say the least. While the quarterbacks are the prize of the class every year, this year's group of wide receivers is going to be huge and we will see a lot of new pass-catchers in new places next season.

Chris Godwin is one name that will more than likely be wearing a new jersey in September, especially since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have many free-agent decisions to deal with themselves.

Although Godwin regressed a little bit in 2020 with 840 yards on 65 catches, he only played 12 games due to injury. In 2019 he posted career-highs across the board with 86 catches, 1,333 yards, and nine touchdowns. He's one of the quickest and toughest receivers to cover and has shown time and time again that he can be the No. 1 receiver on many teams in the league.

He is turning 25 later this month and should have ample suitors offering him big money, and here are three landing spots that would be perfect for Godwin.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs are third on this list solely because they have the first shot to keep him, and if they win the Super Bowl, Godwin might be more inclined to stay in Florida and attempt for another ring.

However, Mike Evans is under contract and the Bucs have a lot of decisions to make especially on the defensive side of the ball, so signing Godwin to a deal would be a bit of luxury for Tampa Bay.

Antonio Brown came on and played well for the Bucs, and it's quite possible he is back with the team on a cheap deal in 2021. Scotty Miller became one of Brady's go-to targets, and rookie Tyler Johnson is a good cost-efficient option for the next few years.

With all that being said, Chris Godwin would more than likely love to back in Tampa, but if he wants to chase the money and sign a long-term deal, this might not make a lot of sense for either side of the equation.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have never needed a pass-catcher as much as they do now, regardless of who is playing quarterback next season.

They could've drafted DK Metcalf, among others, and this past draft passed on Justin Jefferson and instead took Jalen Reagor, who went on to have an injury-plagued year in 2020.

With the new regime taking over in Philly, the time is now for the Eagles to spend some money and make this wide receiver core better than it has been in recent years. Travis Fulgham led the team in receiving yards with 539 yards and tight end Dallas Goedert finished second with 524 yards.

Greg Ward had 419 yards and Reagor played in just 11 games with 396 yards, so it's safe to say this Eagles receiving core needs a boost in 2021.

The Eagles fire Doug Pederson and brought in Nick Sirianni, and either Wentz or Jalen Hurts will be throwing passes next year and desperately need another receiver, especially consider that long-time tight end Zach Ertz is most likely headed out of town.

Chris Godwin to the Eagles makes too much sense, and if they can somehow get the Carson Wentz money off the books, and a talented, young receiver like Godwin would help the Eagles offense going forward.

1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins just missed the playoffs by a game and have two top-20 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft for now, unless they decide to acquire Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans.

Rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had his own issues in 2020, but it didn't help that Miami had receiver issues and injuries across the board. DeVante Parker led the team in receiving with 793 yards in 14 games, and second on the team was tight end Mike Gesicki, which isn't sustainable for a team that hopes to make the playoffs in 2021.

To make matters worse, the third-best receiver on the team was running back Myles Gaskin who finished with 388 yards, so the issue is obvious in Miami.

The Dolphins have been rumored to Ja'Marr Chase and also Heisman Trophy winner and Tagovailoa's former Alabama teammate Devonta Smith, but paying a guy like Godwin to be the No. 1 receiver should be an easy choice for them.

Tagovailoa didn't start right away after waiting for his injury to heal, and then he got benched a few times in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick, who didn't do much better for Miami.

The Dolphins have a lot of cap space and will definitely be one of the bigger players working the market, so a deal with Godwin is extremely possible and would help Tua and the offense in 2021.
