Nick Diaz has been quite the mystery in MMA and things only got weirder when he made his return at UFC 266. He made many statements before the fight and also made it clear he wanted to face Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title.

Nick Diaz recently spoke to TMZ and gave an update on when he wants to return to the UFC. The older Diaz brother is looking to return later this year but he didn't have an opponent in mind when pressed.

“I’m working on the end of the year. I’m working on it,” Diaz said.

“I don’t know right now [who I want to fight]. I’m just focused on my training right now.”

Although he didn't have an opponent in mind, Nick Diaz did know what he was looking for next in his UFC career. He's not looking to face some young, hungry up and comer, he wants a title shot against the best, Kamaru Usman.

“I’d rather fight for the title. If I’m going to fight, I want to fight for the title. They want to say that I want to fight a bunch of guys and stuff like that. Well, you know what? It’s a bigger fight,” Diaz said. “Just skip all the mess. I don’t need to go in there and get my ass whooped by one of the young gun, anyway and it’s not that I won’t win. It’s just not motivating to fight somebody that’s…I want to fight for the title. I’m 38 years old. I think I’ll beat him”
