The third game in the kart-racing series will be titled Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway, according to the Best Buy listing.

The racing game is slated for an October 7, 2022 release, and the listing gives us a glimpse of what the game offers:

Rebuilt and re-imagined from the ground up, Nickelodeon Kart Racers returns – bigger and better than ever! Featuring a fully voice acted cast of over 40 iconic characters, drift, slide and boost your way to the finish line on tracks inspired by legendary Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender and more!

  • New Terrain: Transform your kart or new bike into watercrafts to navigate new terrain.
  • New Levels of Customization: Pair Raphael with the Reptar mobile, change paint jobs and parts, or dive into millions of other possible combinations

  • 36 Different Tracks: Speed down intense slime-filled alternate paths, both new and old
  • Multi-Player: Intense split-screen local and online multi-player

The listing itself was for the Nintendo Switch version, but it's assumed that the game will also be available for PlayStation and Xbox, as were its predecessors. As the name suggests, Slime Speedway will be the third in the series which began with 2018's Nickelodeon Kart Racers. The first game featured 24 courses, 8 arenas, and 12 playable characters.

It was then followed by Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix in 2020, which was a huge improvement from the first. It boasted 30 playable characters, 70 “pit crew” characters, and 28 race tracks including some tracks that were remastered from the first game. Grand Prix also introduced online multiplayer for a maximum of 8 players. It seems that the leaked Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway intends to carry the momentum and build the character and racetrack pool even more.

Fans were quick to dismiss the leak as a fake, citing its similarity to the existing Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slimetime Speedway entry on the fan-made Video Game Fanon wiki. Whether a Best Buy employee fell for the fan-made entry or the titles being really similar was a coincidence is unknown until an official announcement for the game is made.
