Nikola Jokic and the rest of his Denver Nuggets teammates were flying high after receiving their championship rings on Tuesday night before they topped the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023-24 NBA season opener, but Jokic hasn't forgotten what basketball is all about:

When asked about what it was like to feel the love from Nuggets fans during the team's championship ceremony, Jokic responded:

“To be honest…I think it's amazing to see how many lives we impact and just the happiness and the joy of people who are supporting us, it's really an amazing sensation.”

Nikola Jokic has earned back-to-back MVPs and a Finals MVP in the last three seasons, and it's no surprise that Nuggets fans, as well as fans of the NBA in general, shower him with adulation. But with moments like these, Jokic is doing an amazing job of sharing the love right back.

This comes just after Jokic shared comments on his offseason routine this summer that raised some eyebrows and had people questioning whether he truly loved the game. Whether basketball is the main thing in his life or not, it's clear that Jokic has an appreciation and love for the positive influence the NBA, and his role in it, is able to have.

Jokic sending that postgame message was the perfect cap to an amazing night for Nuggets fans, who got to watch the team's championship banner get raised to the rafters of Ball Arena, and then see Jokic go for a triple-double as he and his teammates denied the Los Angeles Lakers revenge for last season's sweep in the Western Conference Finals.
