Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 2 Ending Explained

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars, Entertainment

The first episode ended with Obi-Wan Kenobi off to rescue young Leia Organa from her captors. He arrives at a dilapidated-looking planet as the former Jedi tracks down a ship with the young princess in it.

After encountering a clone trooper begging on the streets and a girl selling spice, a boy promises to lead him to a Jedi for the promise of payment. The Jedi in question was then seen leading a child and his mother to escape the planet, an act Obi-Wan observes from a distance.

Kenobi confronts the Jedi and asks for his help to find Leia. He introduces himself as Haja Estree and promises to help find the girl for an exuberant fee. Obi-Wan exposes him as a pretender using magnets to mimic the Force. In the end, Haja agrees to help Kenobi find Leia, much to the surprise of the real Jedi, by leading him to a crowded bar.

Obi-Wan enters the premises and causes an explosion to distract those inside. He is discovered and attempts to fight his way out by subduing two guards, one of which led him to Leia's location.

Just as he was about to enter the cell, Kenobi finds himself ambushed by Leia's captors. They discover his lightsaber, confirming his status as the Jedi Reva has been looking for. But thanks to a quick mind, he incapacitates them with spice, escapes, and finds the young princess in a different cell. Meanwhile, the Third Sister arrives only to discover his hired henchmen have been drugged.

As the pair make their way towards the port, Leia discovers that his rescuer is a Jedi, thanks to a lightsaber hanging from his waist. Obi-Wan then tells her to follow his lead as he's risking a lot to bring her back to Alderaan.

Reva, for her part, is confronted by the Grand Inquisitor for kidnapping the child of a senator. He and the other inquisitors admonish the Third Sister for acting on her own, while she answers back. With Kenobi seemingly confirmed as alive, the Grand Inquisitor told Reva that he will take the Jedi Master himself and he will deal with her once his capture has been completed.

Unknown to the Grand Inquisitor, Reva has instructed his henchmen to put Kenobi's picture out in the open to squeeze him out. Unfortunately, he discovers her insubordination.

While this is happening, both Obi-Wan and Leia are trying to avoid countless bounty hunters on their trail to make their way out of the planet. The young princess then learns that the reason she has been kidnapped is to draw Kenobi out of hiding after she sees a bounty on the old Jedi. This discovery causes Leia to distrust Obi-Wan, question his motives for rescuing her, and ultimately, run away from him.

As she was about to be captured by a bounty hunter, Obi-Wan comes out and gets rid of him using a blaster. This only leads Leia to climb up to the roof of several buildings as he chases her up there. The commotion does not go unnoticed as Reva locates the two being pinned down by several bounty hunters.

At this point, Leia jumps off the edge and holds on to a wire after failing to reach the other side. Obi-Wan tells her to hold on but she fails to do so. This compels him to use the Force once again to break Leia's fall and make her float to safety, an act that finally convinces the princess that his rescuer is indeed a Jedi.

Right before a bounty hunter could catch them, Haja comes out of nowhere to blast their pursuer. He then instructs Obi-Wan to escape into an automated ship, one that would take them out of the planet to people who would help them without incurring any attention from Imperial forces. Although Kenobi has his doubts about this plan, he reluctantly accepts the criminal's aid.

As the pair make their way out of the planet, Haja stalls Reva to buy them time. The inquisitor then probes into his mind and discovers where Obi-Wan is.

Meanwhile, the old Jedi continues to be amazed by Leia as he sees shades of Padme Amidala in her. Just as this is happening, Reva arrives. He then orders Leia to go on without him as Kenobi prepares to face the inquisitor by getting his old lightsaber out.

Hiding in the shadows, the Jedi prepares for battle. Reva then taunts him that she's going to bring him alive to Darth Vader. She continues by revealing that Anakin Skywalker is still alive and she will be the one to bring Kenobi to him. At this point, the Grand Inquisitor arrives and rebukes Reva because of her impulsiveness. He then tells her that Obi-Wan will be captured by him. Without any warning, Reva stabs him with a lightsaber.

Reva's act of killing her superior proved to be the opening Obi-Wan needed to escape with Leia. Once aboard the ship, Kenobi is haunted by the revelation that his former apprentice has survived and has become a full-fledged Dark Lord of the Sith. The episode then cuts to a shot of Darth Vader himself without his armor inside a Bacta tank as it ends there.
