The Oregon Ducks missed out on the Pac-12 title after losing to Washington, and Heisman Trophy finalist Bo Nix is headed for the NFL after the season. Suddenly, the Oregon football program has emerged as the favorite to land Oklahoma transfer QB Dillon Gabriel, per the latest update from Pete Thamel of ESPN.

“Sources just told me that he's expected to take a visit to Oregon. Oregon has jumped out ahead as the favorite for Gabriel's services.”

Gabriel is one of the top quarterbacks in the market after two massive years with the Sooners, and he would immediately make Oregon a Big Ten contender in 2024.

Gabriel stated that he has yet to decide whether or not to play in the Alamo Bowl against Arizona, but it wouldn't be as surprise if he sits out altogether against the Arizona Wildcats. Bo Nix transferred from Auburn to Oregon and it worked out well for him.

Gabriel finished the 2023 campaign with 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns and would immediately make the Ducks a major threat next year.

Gabriel also had NFL hopes, but the world of NIL has a lot of players thinking twice about heading for the pros. So, instead, Gabriel couple improve his draft stock, earn some NIL cash, and likely compete for a spot in the Big Ten title game depending on how the offseason goes for the Ducks.

Nothing is finalized yet, but Dillon Gabriel going to Eugene would give the Oregon football team yet another top quarterback in the game.
