John Means looks like he is back in prime condition with the Norfolk Tides. His rehabilitation start with the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles proves that an MLB call-up could come soon. He has gotten hot from the past five rehab starts with the team and consistently shown out.

The last stretch of the MLB season is approaching and teams need all the firepower they can get to secure a postseason berth. One team that has been good is the Orioles who aim to keep their winning pace such that their World Series hopes remain alive. They have not been safe from the injury bug but the team might just be getting a blazing-hot John Means back from the Norfolk Tides.

The left-handed ace just recently pitched five shutout innings against the Worcester Red Sox. One of his most impressive feats was giving up just a single hit on 86 pitches. He walked on two of them and got a strikeout six times. All of these were vital in getting him his first victory for the season.

The Orioles are hoping to get him back by the early part of September. An initial step the team could do is to take him out of the 60-day injured list and practice back with the squad in Baltimore. Moreover, he seems ready and it appears that his elbow does not seem to be bothering him a whole lot anymore. Will he make it in time before their series in Anaheim or should he make his comeback on a later date?
