Spencer Dinwiddie has found a home with the Brooklyn Nets. The combo guard and Sixth Man of the Year candidate was recently signed to a three-year extension, cementing his place in Brooklyn's bright future. Dinwiddie took to Instagram and Twitter to alert his fans and followers of the extension.
The journey is just beginning. I’m thankful that @brooklynnets believe in me enough to give me a home.#AudienceOfOne @ Brooklyn, New York https://t.co/DPeA4rl7Tp

It's likely that the Nets were thinking about giving Dinwiddie an extension for some time now, but Dinwiddie's 39-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers may have been the final nudge needed to force this deal.
Dinwiddie is having the best season of his career one year prior to being a finalist for the Most Improved Player award. The dynamic guard is playing more two-guard this year, but it hasn't slowed him down whatsoever. He's averaging a career-high 16.9 points, but his assists are down slightly.

Furthermore, Dinwiddie is becoming head coach Kenny Atkinson's most trusted guy down the stretch in close games. Caris LeVert was the closer, but his gruesome injury left a void that Dinwiddie is filling.
The Nets are on a three-game winning streak and looking to continue their hot streak after dropping to 10 games below .500 at one point this season. Dinwiddie is playing his tail off and he looks like he's going to have a bright future with the Nets.
