To say that Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers is disappointed with being forced to stay in Green Bay for the bye week would be an understatement. After leading the Packers to a 30-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, Rodgers was asked about this new policy, and he did not hold back.

The Packers quarterback admitted how he considers bye weeks as one of the highlights of his season, and how he isn't exactly happy with this newly established policy:

“It sucks, it totally sucks,” the Packers star said, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky (h/t of Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report). “Obviously it is what it is; especially as an older player, I look forward to the bye weeks. It is what it is. We'll be here. We'll make the most of it, but it sucks.”

The league, along with the NFL Players Association, recently agreed to a new rule requiring players to remain in their home cities during bye weeks. This was instated to ensure that players are readily available for daily COVID-19 testing. It's a precautionary measure that makes a lot of sense, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.

Be that as it may, Rodgers will have no choice but to follow the new policy. That is unless the Packers quarterback wants to pay a $50,000 fine for violating the new rule while also likely facing a lot of scrutiny.

The Packers, who are now 4-0 to start the new season, will have a tough test when they return in Week 6, as they take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Aaron Rodgers certainly looks up for the task, though, given his red-hot start to the season. The Packers star is looking like an MVP candidate a quarter of the way through this campaign.
