Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is trying to live in the moment ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

The former Super Bowl champion was asked whether he thinks there will be more chances to capture the Lombardi Trophy in the near future. Rodgers responded in a somewhat ambiguous fashion:

ā€œI hope there's more opportunities, but I don't know,ā€ Aaron Rodgers said, via Ryan Wood of theĀ Green Bay Press-Gazette. ā€œI really don't. That's outside of my control. My future is a beautiful mystery, I think.ā€

If recency is any indication, the Packers should be a contender in the NFC so long as Rodgers stays at the top of his game.

Green Bay is preparing for its second consecutive NFC Championship and its third in the last five seasons. General manager Brian Gutekunst has built a sturdy defense, with A-Rod still leading an explosive offensive unit.

The Packers led the NFL in scoring and ranked fifth in total yards, thanks in part to Rodgers' spectacular campaign. The presumptive league MVP led the NFL in touchdown passes (48), completion percentage (70.7), adjusted net yards per pass attempt (8.89) and total QBR (84.4) while also throwing for nearly 4,300 yards.

Rodgers dissected opposing secondaries with ease in spite of a relative lack of quality depth at wide receiver, though he also benefited from a tremendous all-around playmaker in the backfield in running back Aaron Jones.

Aside from Jones, most of Green Bay's impact players are under contract through next season. With Rodgers still slinging away, it would seem the Packers are set up for future success with him at the helm, even after drafting Jordan Love before this season.

But for now, the 37-year-old Aaron Rodgers is focusing on Sunday's showdown with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
