Aaron Rodgers made a startling point in his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday. The current New York Jets quarterback and Green Bay Packers legend pointed out the narratives in the NFL change every week, per The Spun's Kevin Parrish, Jr.

“Look at how much the narrative can change from week to week. Look at the narrative that was there about Zach Wilson, about our team, and then we win two games and now Greeny's saying we can win division. Nobody was saying that s–t a few weeks ago; a lot of things change,” Aaron Rodgers said.

“Narrative can change so quickly in this league. It's ‘Overreaction Mondays' every single week, it's overreaction for the entire week. Look at what's going on in New England, I mean Mac Jones and Bill's (Belichick) gonna be out and Mac's the problem. Then Mac goes out and balls out, I think he goes 25-of-31, played incredible, led them on a last-second drive and now it's like Mac was never the problem,” Rodgers added.

The Packers' dismal season in a nutshell

The Packers' narrative has changed drastically. Green Bay's fortunes have taken a turn for the worse after beating the Chicago Bears in Week 1. The Packers had a double-digit lead entering the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Falcons the following week. Matt LaFleur and Co. inexplicably blew that lead and eventually lost.

The Packers have now lost four of their last five games. Their 19-17 loss to the 1-5 Denver Broncos in Week 7 was one of their low points of the season. Green Bay's slow starts (they average just 4.3 points in the first half) have become a disturbing trend in 2023.

It doesn't get any easier for the Packers as they will square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8. Aaron Rodgers was right: narratives in the NFL change drastically every week. Can the Packers finally develop that sense of urgency and turn their season around? Let's wait and see.
