Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers played well in their Week 14 showdown against the Chicago Bears, but he did raise some concerns about his condition prior to the contest.

As Peter Bukowski of Locked on Packers noted, Rodgers admitted that he would probably need surgery on his toe if someone steps on it or it suffers from further displacement.

For what it's worth, Aaron Rodgers did seem fine after throwing for four touchdowns and zero interception in the 45-30 win over the Bears. However, it is still not exactly the kind of information a superstar player should be giving to the press.

His postgame comments don't help either, as he noted that his toe felt worse.

Rodgers' toe issue has been a major talking point for some time now, especially during their bye in Week 13. There were talks whether the veteran QB should undergo surgery at the time, which would have still put him on track to play this Week 14.

However, the 38-year-old signal-caller opted against it and has decided to play through the pain. While Rodgers said recently that he is recovering from the issue, latest reports indicate that the injury could linger for the remainder of the season.

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN:

One source told ESPN that doctors can't completely numb the fractured left pinkie toe because Rodgers has to feel his foot to throw — otherwise it drags and he can't feel it plant.

If Rodgers had elected for surgery during the season, the operation would have required a pin be placed in the toe — and the three-time league MVP can't play with the pin. Rodgers therefore will delay his decision to have surgery until after the season, if it even is needed at that time.

It is undoubtedly a concerning update that the Packers and the rest of the Green Bay fan base will keep an eye on. Rodgers' health is of utmost importance since they can't afford to lose him at this point of the season with the playoffs looming.

Hopefully, though, Rodgers can endure and it won't be a major problem for them in their bid to contend for the playoffs.
