The Green Bay Packers are preparing to start training camp ahead of the 2022 season and among the nine players they placed on the PUP List is rookie wideout Christian Watson, who is expected to play an important part in the offense.

Via The Packers Wire:

PUP means physically unable to participate. It's not exactly known why Watson is on the list but it shouldn't be seen as a concern for the Packers this early. Other players sidelined to begin camp are tight end Robert Tonyan, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, kicker Mason Crosby, defensive lineman Dean Lowry, and running back Kylin Hill, to name a few.

Watson was taken 34th overall by the Packers in April out of North Dakota State and just signed his rookie deal on Wednesday. With Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling moving on, Watson will surely see his fair share of usage from reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers.

In four seasons at North Dakota State, Watson collected 105 receptions for 14 touchdowns and over 2,000 yards. His dad also was drafted by the Packers in the early 90s so there is a connection between the WR and Green Bay.

With the signing of Watson, the Packers have now locked up every pick in the 2022 draft class ahead of training camp, which is certainly a good sign. He was also the highest drafted receiver by this organization since 2002 when they took Javon Walker. With that being said, big things are certainly expected from Christian Watson once he finally takes the field with his new teammates.
