According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network on Twitter, the Green Bay Packers plan to screen the documentary “13th” on Thursday.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Twitter that Green Bay was one of the many teams to cancel or postpone practice on Thursday in light of the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

This is a nice twist to canceling practice. They are using that time to try and educate their players on a problem in America. And they are not forcing the players to do so if they don't want to.

At the same time, this is not all that surprising. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, the Packers issued a statement following the shooting. They made their stance on the issue incredibly clear.

Do not be surprised to see more teams follow in their footsteps. We will likely see a number of other NFL teams join the canceling or postponement of practices and activities. From there, it will be interesting to see what they do with their time.

Some might screen documentaries like the Packers are doing. Others may do nothing and simply hope that the message of canceling was strong enough.

At the same time, some may feel that they need to make a bigger statement and will find a way to do just that.

It is unclear where we go from here. The one thing that is certain though is that this is far from over. We will see more teams and players from across all sports (not just the NFL) taking a stand for what they believe is right.

That will lead to more boycotts, more postponements and more cancelations. This is likely just the tip of the iceberg.
