The bombshell news was dropped on Monday by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, when he reported that Aaron Rodgers is planning to play for the Green Bay Packers this season. The drama has dragged out most of the offseason, starting on draft night back in April. For now, there appears to be some clarity and an answer.

As a result of this news, the Packers Super Bowl odds moved big time on the DraftKings Sportsbook.

From (+2800) to (+1400) all because of the reigning MVP. Of course this makes sense and with this reported news, the Packers are launched right back into Super Bowl contention. After coming up short in the NFC Championship a year ago, Green Bay will be returning just about everyone from that squad. The big question that remained, and obviously the biggest of all, was Rodgers. With him seemingly back in the fold and coming back, the Packers have as good as shot as anyone to come out of the NFC.

Of course, with the odds shifting off of the news from Rapoport it is still yet to be seen when exactly Rodgers plans to show up. July 28 is the beginning of training camp for the Packers so that would seem to be the logical date but it's anyone's guess at the moment.

With Rodgers appearing to be on his way back to the Packers, perhaps for one last run in Green Bay, it will be a year of high expectations and Super Bowl aspirations yet again in the land of cheese.
