Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Jordy Nelson saw his tenure with the Green Bay Packers end after 10 seasons after the organization decided to waive him at the start of the free agency period last week. Nelson had spent his entire NFL career with the franchise as one of their primary fixtures.

Since then, he has signed with the Oakland Raiders on a two-year, $15 million deal for the next stop in the league. Nelson has decided to take to social media on Friday morning to voice his appreciation toward the Packers for his time in Green Bay.

During his decade-long tenure with the Packers, the 32-year-old established himself as one of the better receivers in the league as one of All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers' primary targets in the passing game. Nelson currently ranks third in franchise history with 550 catches, fifth with 7,848 receiving yards, and second with 69 touchdown receptions. He and Rodgers also hold the franchise mark for most quarterback-receiver duo touchdowns at 65.

Nelson has several highly productive campaigns during that same recording more than 1,000 receiving yards four times with each instance being more than 1,200 receiving yards. In fact, he had put together three consecutive seasons with at least 85 receptions and 1,200 receiving yards and eight touchdown receptions. This high level of production along with his strong relationship with Rodgers made his departure a difficult process.

At the same time, it appears that Nelson has subtly left the door open to a return with his post stating “until next time…,” which could be interpreted as him having interest in coming back. This may a few years down the line depending on how things wind up in Oakland, but if Rodgers is still in Green Bay, there is no reason to believe he wouldn't push to have his close friend back in the fold. That said, this officially marks that Nelson has moved on from the Packers to shift his focus to this next chapter of his career.
