The Green Bay Packers' Week 18 game against the Detroit Lions was meaningless, and they clearly played like that. Despite the loss not affecting the playoff seeding at all, head coach Matt LaFleur is not happy with the mindset they had.

After the Packers suffered their fourth loss of the season, LaFleur shared to reporters postgame how disappointed he is of the team not playing to the standard they set. He particularly cited their defense for falling short of expectations and lacking discipline, especially in handling the Lions' trick plays.

“Football in general comes down to discipline, people owning their roles. When you aren't disciplined, or you go outside the scheme, bad stuff happens. We can not have that. We need all 11 doing their damn job,” LaFleur said, per Ryan Wood of Green Bay Press-Gazette.

It's easy to see where Matt LaFleur is coming from. While the Packers' offense didn't have the best game as well, their defense was suspect. The Lions' passing and rushing attack just had their way against Green Bay, who offered little resistance.

Certainly, it's not the way LaFleur envisioned how their regular season would end. The Packers are an experienced team led by a future Hall of Famer in Aaron Rodgers, but the last thing they want before the playoffs is showing any sign of weakness.

Hopefully, Green Bay can erase that mindset of mediocrity before they head to the postseason.
