After the Green Bay Packers clinched the top seed in the NFC for the second straight season on Sunday, it looks like Aaron Rodgers also pretty much clinched another MVP trophy.

It has been a challenging campaign for Rodgers, who was linked to trade rumors in the offseason. There was also the whole COVID-19 vaccination issue. But still, the veteran quarterback has made things happen for the Packers once again and is a heavy favorite to take home his fourth MVP plum.

This is exactly why NFL legend and now ESPN analyst Peyton Manning wants the Packers star to stop hoarding MVP awards (via ESPN).

“If you win this fourth MVP, I don't think you really wanna get to five. I think you just retire and you go off into the sunset.”

Of course, Manning was joking. Or was he? Manning won five MVP trophies during his illustrious career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, so perhaps he's a little wary of Rodgers matching his feat. But the Hall of Fame QB is known to be a gracious competitor, so he'll be happy if the Packers leader will indeed take home his fourth MVP crown.

With the way things are going and a third Super Bowl title well within reach, it doesn't look like Rodgers is going to ride off into the sunset in the near future.
