After being selected at No. 12 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, pass rusher Rashan Gary hasn't taken any days off. That's easily indicated by an endless supply of Instagram workout montages. It appears, his hard work in honing his physique has paid off.

Gary, who measures in at 6-foot-4, 277-pounds, checked in at 10% body fat, according to Packers.com's Wes Hodklewicz. For a man of his stature, that's an impressive number. Weighing in on the situation to reports at training camp, Gary said;

I felt that looking at guys like Aaron Donald in the league, you look at their body, you see how they perform and you see what type of training they can do — I wanted to take my body to the next level. So for me, getting down to 10 percent, that was a big thing for me and I can definitely tell the difference.

Getting leaner should help Gary as a rookie. Though listed as a defensive end at Michigan, he's expected to play everywhere in Mike Pettine's 3-4. At outside linebacker, he should be a bit quicker than expected, and at defensive end, the same can be said. He aimed to keep his body fat around 13-14%, but the Packers are demanding new things out of him. As of now, he's listed as an outside linebacker, as he told Hodklewicz:

I’m an athlete. I don’t know how else to put it. I feel like whatever the coach wants me to do, I could do it. But [right now], I’m an outside linebacker.

If you're trying to shed some weight, Rashan Gary offers a good way of doing so: training in the sand.
