Adam Schefter of ESPN on an appearance on “Get Up” on Thursday morning said he thinks that Tom Brady being with the New England Patriots in 2020 is the “least likely option.”

This isn't the first time that Schefter has speculated on Brady moving on from the Patriots, but this might be the clearest he has ever made the point. Schefter pointed out that Brady has three options to consider after this season.

“There are three options,” Schefter said. “He’s either staying in New England, he’s retiring or he’s going to go play somewhere else. I would think of those three, that staying in New England — to me — would seem like the least likely option of the three, but we’ll see.”

When Schefter was pressed further about the comment, Schefter said he thinks that Brady will retire or play for another team before he returns to New England.

“I think you can go any which way. I think all three are in play. But I think it would be more likely he’d retire or even perhaps move on than it would be to stay in New England. We’ll see.”

Schefter usually has a pretty good feel about what is going on behind the scenes in the NFL so it's hard to imagine that he would be saying this unless he knows something.

We won't know what Brady will do until after the season but it sure would be weird seeing Brady wearing a jersey other than the Patriots and playing his home games somewhere besides Gillette Stadium.
