The New England Patriots had a successful 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville over the weekend. Tom Brady now has another Michigan alumnus to talk to as a result. The Patriots once again managed to find value in the later rounds, most notably selecting former Michigan Wolverines pass rusher Chase Winovich in the fourth round.
With Winovich now officially a member of the elite AFC franchise, the former Wolverines standout will obviously join another former Michigan great in New England.
“I am familiar,” Winovich recently said when informed that a certain quarterback also played at Michigan, via 247 Sports. “Tom [Brady] actually came back and spoke to our team and came back for a game and I got the chance to get a really cool picture with him shaking his hand. It’s just really great that he cares about Michigan enough to come back and share some wisdom that he’s been through throughout the years. I really look up to him just as anybody that’s played at Michigan does.”

“Man, I’m speechless,” Winovich said of being drafted by the Patriots, via 247 Sports. “It’s a great honor and I’m just very lucky. I’m feeling very blessed, surrounded by my closest family and friends, so it’s a very lucky position I’m in, very blessed.”
Winovich will immediately help a Patriots defense that will attempt to get to the opposing quarterback at will in 2019.
