The former college coach of Anthony Davis and Julius Randle believes that the two will wreak havoc as they join forces for the New Orleans Pelicans.

As reported by William Guillory of The Athletic, Kentucky Wildcats assistant coach Kenny Payne believes that Davis and Randle will torture their foes.

“Julius has a lot of respect for A.D., and A.D. has a lot of respect for Julius. Both of them are really unselfish guys,” Payne said. “They are going to torture other big men around the league. I know I can’t wait to see them play together”

Prior to the NBA, Davis and Randle each spent a year in Kentucky for some college ball. Davis played in the 2011-12 season, while Randle played in 2013-14. They didn't get a chance to share the court together back then. Now in the pros, the two will get a chance to showcase that Kentucky connection.

After being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, Randle signed with the Pelicans for a two-year, $18 million deal. Randle's separation from the Lakers was inevitable. Last season, he was involved in trade talks all year long. And LeBron James' decision to move to L.A. was the nail in the coffin.

But now with the Pelicans, Randle joins Davis to form a deadly frontcourt. Randle is known for his brute strength and heft. Davis, meanwhile, has quickly established himself as one of the NBA's elite big men.
